What Is Mattress Disposal?

Mattress disposal in Toronto routes every mattress and box spring to Ontario-certified mattress recycling processors - not landfill. At the facility, polyurethane foam is shredded for carpet underlay, steel spring coils are sent to metal scrap processors, and fabric is separated for industrial fibre recovery - diverting approximately 90% of the mattress by weight. A WSIB-compliant two-person crew handles bag-and-carry from any floor, including condo elevator coordination.

Roughly 95% of a mattress by weight is recoverable. The foam can be shredded for carpet underlay, the innerspring coils are scrap steel, the textiles can be shredded, and box spring frames are timber. None of that happens if the mattress goes into a compactor. We route beds to recyclers rather than compactors, part of the eco-certified disposal behind every junk removal job we run across Toronto and the GTA.

We collect from the bedroom, not the curb, and deliver into the recycling stream.

What Is Included

  • Collection from any room on any floor
  • Encasement bagging where there is any pest concern
  • Wall and stair protection during the carry
  • Box spring and bed frame removal, dismantled on site
  • Condo dock and elevator coordination where needed
  • Transport to an eco-certified mattress recycling facility

Common Problems We Solve

The New Bed Is Being Delivered

Most retailers either will not take the old set or charge a fee that is higher than ours. We schedule around your delivery so the room is clear before the new mattress arrives.

It Will Not Go Down The Stairs Cleanly

King mattresses and older sprung sets do not flex the way a foam mattress does. Two people, one at each end, going down a turn is the difference between a clean exit and a scuffed stairwell.

Bed Bug Concerns

This is more common than people expect and nothing to be embarrassed about. The correct approach is to seal the mattress in an encasement bag inside the bedroom before it moves, which is exactly what we do. Sealed units go to disposal rather than recycling or donation.

Apartment And Condo Buildings

Many buildings have no curbside collection at all and explicitly prohibit mattresses in the garbage room. Booking a pickup with dock and elevator coordination is the only clean route out.

What It Costs

  • Single or double mattress: $79 to $89 per piece
  • Queen or king mattress: $89 to $109 per piece
  • Box spring: priced as a separate piece
  • Full set plus frame: $149 to $199 combined

Clearing a bedroom completely? Combining the mattress with dressers and a bed frame under furniture removal is usually cheaper than per-piece pricing. Adding a sofa? See couch removal in Toronto.

The Difference

Why Choose Us For Mattress Disposal

Actually Recycled

Mattresses are roughly 95% recyclable by weight but almost never recycled when left at the curb. We route them to facilities that recover the foam, coils, and textiles.

Bed Bugs Handled Correctly

If there is any suspicion of an infestation, we bag and seal the mattress in the bedroom before it moves so nothing spreads through the hallway or building.

No Dragging Through The House

A bagged mattress carried by two people does not scuff the stairwell, mark the walls, or shed on the carpet.

Per-Piece Pricing

$79 to $109 per piece, quoted before we arrive. A full set with the frame usually reprices cheaper as a combined load.

Simple Process

How Our Mattress Disposal Works

Tell Us The Size And Floor

Single through king, plus whether there is a box spring or frame going with it.

Same-day or next-day. Most mattress pickups take ten to twenty minutes on site.

  3. 03

    Bag And Carry

We bag the mattress in the room where it stands when required, then carry it out without dragging it through the house.

  4. 04

Mattress Disposal FAQs

How much does mattress disposal cost in Toronto?

Singles and doubles are $79 to $89 per piece, queens and kings are $89 to $109. A box spring counts as a separate piece. A full set plus the frame usually reprices as a combined load at $149 to $199.

Does the City of Toronto take mattresses?

Only within the oversized waste limits on your collection day, and they have to be at the curb yourself. Mattresses put out that way are landfilled rather than recycled, and buildings without curbside collection have no option at all.

Are mattresses actually recyclable?

Yes. Roughly 95% of a mattress by weight can be recovered: polyurethane foam, innerspring steel coils, textiles, and timber from box spring frames. We route them to facilities that do that separation.

What if my mattress has bed bugs?

Tell us when you book. We bring encasement bags and seal the mattress in the bedroom before it leaves the room, which prevents anything spreading through corridors or an elevator. Those units go to disposal, not recycling or donation.

Do you take box springs and bed frames too?

Yes. Box springs are priced as a separate piece, and metal or timber frames are dismantled on site and included in the load. It is usually cheaper to take the whole set at once.

Can you collect from an upstairs bedroom or a condo?

Yes, any floor. For condos we book the service elevator and provide a Certificate of Insurance to property management where required.

How fast can you come?

Same day across most of the GTA when you book before our mid-morning cutoff, with a flat $50 rush surcharge on same-day jobs.

Still have a question?

Call the crew directly and we will tell you straight whether we can take it and what it costs.
