What Is Compliant Tire Disposal?
Tire disposal in Toronto covers passenger, light truck, ATV, and off-road tires under Ontario Regulation 84/03, which prohibits landfilling tires in Ontario. Every load is transported to Ontario Tire Stewardship registered collectors for mechanical processing - rubber is shredded for playground surfaces and athletic tracks, and steel belts are extracted for scrap. A WSIB-compliant two-person crew handles stacking, loading, and transfer documentation.
The practical problem is getting them there. Most people have four to eight seasonal tires in a garage corner that have outlived the car they belonged to, and hauling them to a depot means filling a trunk with dirty rubber and finding somewhere that will take them without a purchase. We handle that trip for you, and tires can travel with any other load on our junk removal runs across Toronto and the GTA.

The Seasonal Set Outlived The Car
Winter tires stay in the garage long after the vehicle is gone. They take up a corner, they attract standing water in summer, and nobody wants them in the trunk of the new car.
The Retailer Would Not Take Them
Tire shops accept used tires when they are fitting new ones, not as a walk-in drop-off. If you did the swap yourself or bought the car with a spare set, there is no obvious place for them to go.
Cleaning Out A Garage
Tires turn up in almost every garage cleanout we do. They are handled within the same load and sorted into the tire stream separately, at no additional charge.
A Shop Or Fleet Has A Stack
Garages, tire shops, and fleet yards accumulate faster than their contracted collection can clear. We run scheduled and one-off pickups across the GTA with a Certificate of Insurance available on request.
What It Costs
- Small quantity, four to eight tires: $49 to $89
- Medium load, garage clear-out volume: $89 to $149
- Large load or tires on rims: $149 to $199
Larger truck, trailer, and tractor tires are quoted individually because of their weight. If the tires are part of a wider clear-out, they are usually cheaper folded into a garage cleanout load. Old metal rims, tools, and shelving are covered under scrap metal removal in Toronto.
